The Atayal dances are related to ordinary life, thus the tools used are utensils from daily life. The tools used include panniers, rice sifters, rice pestle, rice mortar, millets, corn, sweet potatoes, hunting knives, spears, bow and arrows, leather coats, traditional clothes, weaving machines, decorative items, trees, grass, bamboos, bonfires, gamba grass, etc. Because the Atayal people use songs to regulate the dance steps in most circumstances, there are fewer tolls used in the composition of music. Mouth harps, wood xylophones, pounding of mortar and pestle, knocking of bamboo tubes, slapping of ground with bamboo sticks, and accompaniment of wood weaving devises are used in the composition.
